The fine print

Privacy policy

We're not in the business of collecting more about you than we need, and we're definitely not in the business of selling it on. Here's a straight account of what we do with your data.

Who we are

The Bach Bistro Limited operates The Bach, a restaurant at 31 Albert Square, Dundee DD1 1DJ. We're the data controller for any personal information you share with us.

What we collect and why

When you make a reservation, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any preferences or notes you add. We use this to manage your booking and get in touch if something changes. When you contact us through our website, we collect your name, email address, and whatever you tell us in your message. We use this only to respond to you. When you pay us, your payment is processed directly by Square. We don't handle or store your card details — Square's own privacy policy covers how they manage payment data.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted services to run the restaurant. We share only what each service needs to do its job. We don't sell your data, and we don't pass it to marketers.
  • OpenTable — for reservations
  • Square — for payments and point of sale
  • Zoho — for email and file storage (EU-based)
  • Cloudflare — to host and deliver our website

How long we keep it

Booking and contact data is kept for as long as it's reasonably needed, and no longer.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to see what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do any of that, just get in touch.

Cookies

Our website doesn't use any cookies. When you click through to make a reservation, OpenTable may set their own cookies — their privacy policy covers that.

Marketing emails

We don't currently send marketing emails, but may do at some point. Regardless, you'll always be able to opt out.

Changes

If we update this policy, the current version will always live on this page.
